Best wishes to our friends in Japan

Trek has many friends in Japan. Since Trek started in business in 1976, Shimano has been one of our most important suppliers. At a number of critical points in Trek’s history, Shimano has played a key part in our success. Trek also opened a sales office in Japan in the early 1990’s. Trek Japan has been one of our most successful businesses over the last twenty years. I have been lucky enough to travel to Japan many times over the last 25 years and I have a great admiration for the Japanese people. Hard working, fun, and honest are a few words I would use to describe so many of the Japanese people that I have been lucky enough to meet. One month ago I had a large group of Japanese Trek retailers over to my house for dinner. It was a wonderful time.

As I watched the news and heard the reports of the eathquake and the Tsunami I felt very sad for the people in Japan. All Trek Japan employees are OK, and it appears that Trek Japan retailers are all accounted for. We will help out our friends and customers and best we can as they rebuild.
